Mobile Solar Light Tower Installation Guide

Feb. 10, 2025

Outdoor solar lighting systems utilize solar cells to transform sunlight into electricity, which is then stored in batteries for use during nighttime. The TEMPO mobile solar light towers, when paired with SUNLIKE solar lights, offer an easy installation process and require minimal maintenance, eliminating the need for trenching, wiring, and electricity expenses.

Important Information

To prevent deep discharge of the batteries during storage, it is crucial to fully charge them every four months. Ensure that the light fixture is positioned in an area that receives ample sunlight, with a recommended average of at least 3.5 hours of sunlight daily. Additionally, select the appropriate operating mode that aligns with local regulations and prevailing sunlight conditions, and avoid placing the installation in shadowed areas. Adequate self-cleaning occurs when the light fixture is angled at a minimum of 15 degrees from the horizontal position. Always retain these guidelines and read them thoroughly prior to any installation or wiring procedures. It is essential not to open or attempt to repair the SOL TECH light fixture, as this could lead to significant damage and void the product warranty. Should any inquiries arise regarding the installation, please consult your local dealer. The lighting fixture extends a range of 20-26 feet (6-8 meters), with an ideal installation spacing of less than 16 feet (5 meters) between fixtures. When setting up two or more fixtures on a single pole, ensure that the desired operating mode is selected prior to installation, as shifting the operating mode post-installation could lead to potential radio frequency interference, resulting in delays or malfunctions of the remote control.

Precautions When Using Solar Panels

When the solar panel is exposed to sunlight, it generates voltage on its output terminals, thus acting as a source of electricity. To mitigate the risk of electric shock, it is imperative to cover the solar panel with an opaque material (such as paper or cloth) during the installation process. Avoid touching the terminals while the panel is exposed to sunlight or any other light source.

Mobile Solar Light Tower installation and wiring specifications

All installation and wiring practices must adhere to state and national electrical codes. The SUNLIKE 20W/30W/30W PRO models are designed exclusively for outdoor use; they must not be placed in unventilated areas and must be installed within the defined operating temperature range of the product. The installation site should receive an average of more than 3.5 hours of sunshine each day to ensure the fixture operates effectively, so shaded areas should be avoided.

Before installation, confirm that the light pole and foundation are sufficiently stable to support the lighting equipment. Additionally, ensure that the battery is fully charged prior to installation; sunny weather will provide optimal conditions for this process. Before beginning the installation, test the ON/OFF button on the remote control to verify if the indicator light is illuminated in red. Cover the solar panel and check within one minute to ensure the light module functions correctly.

Post-installation, the light will automatically activate at night and deactivate during the day. It is crucial to point the solar panel towards the equator (e.g., southward in the northern hemisphere) and maintain a minimum tilt angle of 15 degrees to prevent dust accumulation. (0 degrees represents a horizontal plane).
