5 Essential Features to Include in Custom POP Display Graphics

Creating custom POP displays is not solely about aesthetics; it's about understanding the critical elements that make your product stand apart from competitors. The essence of an effective product display lies in its ability to showcase your brand in the best light possible.

At Getell, we strive to provide competitive pricing and prompt delivery, making us a reliable partner for your display needs.

In this article, we'll explore some unique features of custom POP displays. Concord Displays specializes in transforming your display ideas from concept to reality, simplifying the entire process. Below are five exceptional displays we're particularly proud of.

Displays That Make the Product Pop: Teeling Whiskey Display

The Teeling Whisky display exemplifies how every detail can amplify brand presence and product appeal.

The product “pops” in this display not through elaborate, costly design elements but by crafting a presentation that resonates with the brand identity, the retail setting, and potential consumers.

Every aspect, from texture to color, is deliberately designed to uplift the Teeling Whisky brand. Utilizing a combination of wood and metal allows for straightforward assembly, while we skillfully designed the display to resemble a simple barrel, maximizing visual impact.

Where does attention naturally gravitate? To the neatly arranged whisky bottles, showcasing the product impeccably.

A Truly Immersive Display for All 5 Senses: Makita Tool Display

Does your retail display engage all five senses? The Makita Tool display is an excellent example of true immersion.

This interactive display includes touch-and-feel elements with video screens positioned on each side and Kicker speakers integrated (in partnership with Kicker). Illuminated Makita logos add emphasis. Initially, there were 22 wire tool holders for different tools, but we streamlined it down to six holders in the final design. This project was intensive, but the results truly paid off!

Incorporating these features means this display captivates the customer's sight, hearing, and touch—all at once!

Tower and Countertop Displays: Caesarstone

When Caesarstone approached us for a custom POP display, they envisioned something sleek, curvy, and striking. We worked closely with them throughout the design stage to craft this stunningly curvy design that delivered the visual impact they were after. You can read about the design journey in our blog about POP display design.

If space for a floor rack is limited, a countertop display is an ideal solution. We designed a transparent shelf display for Caesarstone that directs customer focus on the product samples rather than the display itself, with the stone arranged to showcase color edges prominently, complemented by a curved metal base featuring their logo.

A Moveable Display: Kingsford

This robust metal display for Kingsford was conceptualized for outdoor use at convenience stores, with a practical design that allows for indoor storage at night, thanks to durable casters at the base. Constructed entirely of metal, it ensures longevity, an essential factor for displays subject to frequent relocation!

The design incorporates shelving on both sides, enabling customers to shop from either angle. Additionally, it can be disassembled into a compact package for easy shipping.

We've produced this display every spring for several years—perhaps similar solutions could work for your retail space!

Attention to Detail: DeWalt Backpack Spinner Display

Elevate your display and let your brand gleam. In designing this particular display, we incorporated a leather-like strip at the top and bottom, embellished with simulated bolts for a rugged aesthetic. The side panel graphics highlight practical features of the backpacks, such as lighting, USB, and battery capabilities. What distinctive details can enhance your product's visibility? The Top Five Custom POP Displays on the Market

Successful marketing hinges on your product, promotional displays, and the timing and traffic to your store. In addition to making your products noticeable, you need displays that present them in strategic locations where visibility is crucial.

Traditional signage might gather a few passing glances, but product visibility is just the beginning. For a display to create a customer experience, you will require more than a static sign or poster—you need dynamic POP displays.

POP displays are designed to do more than just capture attention; when placed in high-traffic areas and customized thoughtfully, they can stimulate action, influence foot traffic, and drive sales.

If POP displays currently lack in your in-store marketing strategy, keep reading to discover the essentials of custom POP displays. We also offer suggestions for the best custom options for your brand or retail environment.

Understanding Custom POP Displays

POP displays, or point-of-purchase displays, consist of signage or interactive setups designed to promote products, akin to traditional promotional displays. However, what sets these custom displays apart is their capacity to foster an engaging experience between customers and products.

Unlike conventional displays, point-of-purchase (POP) displays present merchandise and enable shoppers to reach out and take items for purchase. They share characteristics with point-of-sale displays.

Although POP displays and point-of-sale (POS) displays are often confused due to their similarities, a POP display excels at promoting larger in-store products and driving sales, while a POS display focuses more on marketing small-ticket items typically found near cash registers.

POP displays can be categorized based on their material and duration of use into three main types. Let’s explore each type of POP display frequently found in retail settings.

Temporary Custom Point-of-Purchase Displays

These displays exist on retail premises for short durations, generally not exceeding six months. Due to their temporary nature, they are constructed from easily sourced, cost-effective materials like recycled paper or plastic.

Thanks to their affordability, retail managers can easily remove or recycle these POP displays based on performance metrics.

Common examples of temporary displays include versatile floor displays, lightweight countertop displays, and Slatwall units.

Given their design, these custom displays are excellent for seasonal promotions or smaller retail spaces like convenience stores and general merchandise locations. They also serve as cost-effective solutions for stores introducing new products that may soon be phased out.

Semi-Permanent Custom Point-of-Purchase Displays

Semi-permanent POP displays, which typically stay in place for six months to a year, are especially suited for “big-ticket” items such as consumer electronics. This category of displays utilizes more premium materials like acrylic for longevity, often incorporating glass and wood elements.

Due to the materials used, semi-permanent displays are generally pricier than their temporary counterparts.

Permanent Custom Point-of-Purchase Displays

Though termed "permanent," these displays do not occupy retail space indefinitely. Instead, they are intended to showcase larger items for more than a year. Constructed from durable materials such as acrylic, glass, and heavy-duty plastics, they are designed to endure the test of time.

Typical examples of permanent displays include kiosks and displays resembling stores focusing on a selection of significant products.

Creating a permanent POP display represents a larger investment, but if you intend to promote a product for an extended period, this investment pays off.

Creating Effective POP Displays

While marketing agencies can offer valuable insights into creating an effective POP display, the actual design and manufacturing fall in the domain of specialists like us.

Companies focusing on point-of-purchase displays collaborate with retailers to align display characteristics with sales objectives, while also tailoring the design to specific market settings and target audiences.

Utilizing the retailer's input, design specialists craft a custom point-of-purchase display featuring the designated materials and graphics.

The Behind-the-Scenes Process for Creating POP Displays

The creation of captivating purchase displays involves a significant amount of behind-the-scenes work. At FELBRO Displays, the process starts by defining what businesses want to achieve through the display.

Initial Needs Assessment and Conceptualization

We partner with business owners to understand their needs and desires regarding the display while also considering brand identity and sales objectives.

Based on this information, we create an initial sketch of the proposed custom display.

Design Development

Using our marketing wisdom and retail experience, we craft a custom point-of-purchase display that aligns with the retailer's branding goals. Recognizing that retail environments vary significantly, we continuously apply innovative thinking in our designs.

Prototyping and Production

Our in-house engineering team creates prototypes based on the design plan. After rigorous testing, we proceed with full-scale production once the custom point-of-purchase displays receive approval.

Installation and Quality Assurance

Upon completion, we ship the products to our clients and collaborate with trusted partners for installation and ongoing maintenance.

With time, we assess the performance of displays to gather feedback and determine potential enhancements for future projects.

The Top Five POP Displays for Businesses

Custom-designed displays are increasingly popular and diverse. As the number of custom POP displays in retail locations rises, the designs become more unique with each iteration. Despite this diversity, we have identified several display types that yield excellent results for numerous businesses.

Here are five highly effective point-of-purchase displays that can captivate your audience and boost sales:

1. Floor Displays

Time-tested floor displays represent some of the most prevalent POP displays today, and for valid reasons. They are effective at showcasing products and are easy to position and recycle. Their economical materials render them a favorite among smaller retailers.

2. End Cap Displays

Along with floor displays, end cap displays stand out as another popular choice. Positioned in grocery aisles, they are easily identifiable and can take various forms, from shelves to dump bins. Regardless of their design, these POP displays effectively showcase smaller products.

3. Countertop Point-of-Purchase Displays

Countertop displays vary in size, depending on how many products you wish to promote. These versatile displays can be equipped with shelves or hooks and can strategically be placed in high-traffic locations to attract more customers.

4. Pallet Displays

If you seek to elevate your countertop display, consider pallet displays for additional storage. Offering the same versatility as countertop displays, they provide more substantial space for visible product placement, supporting impulse buying.

5. Display Cases

For retailers showcasing delicate products, the display case is an ideal option. While they exhibit products similarly to floor displays, additional encasement offers protection, making them perfect for showcasing new items like electronics.

Constructed from sturdy materials like wood and glass, display cases represent a quality solution. Reach out to us for custom display cases accompanied by quality acrylic signage.
